It’s Sunday, Florida State fans. As the weekend winds down, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

With Da’Vante Phillips’ Florida State future hanging in the balance, FSU is turning to an upperclassmen to try to fill the void at receiver.

According to reports, senior cornerback Malique Jackson is making that switch. A 6-0, 170-pounder from Georgia, Jackson has been relegated to special teams, recording just three tackles in 17 career games.

Jackson stood out for FSU during the spring game, but with the multitude of talent around him, was unlikely to see much time in the secondary. FSU has just seven scholarship receivers on the roster, but with Phillips suspended indefinitely for money fraud, that number looked to be on the verge of being reduced to six before Jackson made the move.
