FSU, ACC Set Record for Academic Honor Roll

For the second straight year, both Florida State and the Atlantic Coast Conference set records for the number of athletes on the academic honor roll.

In total, 4,472 athletes from the ACC were honored. 252 came from Florida State. Those two numbers break last year’s record for both entities of 4,368 and 241, respectively.

The 252 selections for FSU ranked ninth among the conference’s 15 schools. Duke had the most selections with 489 while Miami and Wake Forest were tied for the fewest with 181.

Notable FSU athletes to earn the honor include basketball leading scorer Dwayne Bacon, track and field All-American Kellion Knibb, softball stars Morgan Klaevemann, Alex Powers and Ellie Cooper and baseball stars Dylan Busby and Taylor Walls. Notable football players include punter Logan Tyler, tight end Mavin Saunders for a second year in a row and offensive lineman Landon Dickerson.
