Tommy John Surgery won’t stop Cobi Johnson from pursuing his professional baseball dream.

Despite not throwing a pitch for Florida State this season, Johnson was selected No. 865 overall on Wednesday by Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 29th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft.

A 6-4 redshirt sophomore, Johnson has spent time both as a starter and a reliever during his time at FSU. Last season, Johnson finished with a 3.50 ERA in 18 innings and was part of a combined no-hitter against Toledo before going down to injury.

Johnson becomes the fourth FSU player selected in this year’s draft and first pitcher. He’ll have the option of returning to Tallahassee for next season.
