FSU and LSU Will Meet Under Lights

Florida State clinched its first College World Series appearance in five years with a 19-0 win over Sam Houston State on Sunday night. Hours later, it learned that No. 4 national seed LSU would be its opponent in the opening round in Omaha. It knows when it will play.

The Seminoles and Tigers will begin their College World Series journeys at 8 p.m. EST on Saturday night. The contest will air on ESPN.

FSU bounced back from an opening loss to Tennessee Tech in the Tallahassee Regional to win the next four games, including the last two over Auburn, and the regional. It then went on to sweep Sam Houston State in the best-of-three Tallahassee Super Regional.

LSU has won 16 straight games going back to the end of the regular season. The Tigers swept the SEC Tournament before going 3-0 in the Baton Rouge Regional. LSU beat Mississippi State in consecutive games to win the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

Florida State and LSU will be the second game of the day on Saturday, following Oregon State and Cal State Fullerton. The winner of the two games will meet next Monday night. The losers will play earlier in the day.
