A rain-out at Miami wasn’t enough to get Florida State out of its groove on Tuesday as the Seminoles went to DeLand and easily defeated Stetson, 11-5.

Drew Parrish went seven innings to get the win in his first midweek start. With the win, FSU improves to 26-16 and will get ready for a big weekend series at home against Virginia, which starts Friday.

The Good: The offense for Florida State continues to perform as it finished with 11 runs and 11 hits. Three different Seminoles had multiple hits. FSU also got a good night from its bullpen as Clayton Kwiatkowski and Chase Haney combined to yield just one total hit in a shutout inning each.

The Bad: The defense was not a thing of beauty on Tuesday night as the Seminoles and Hatters combined for four errors. All 16 of the game’s runs however, were earned.

The Ugly: Three hitters for Stetson — Jacob Koos, Austin Hale and Austin Bogart — combined for all eight of the Hatters’ hits. The rest of the lineup was a combined 0-for-24 with a run scored.

Studs of the Game: FSU shortstop Taylor Walls was 3-for-6 with a pair of runs scored while Quincy Nieporte was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Nick Derr and J.C. Flowers each drove in three runs for the Seminoles. For Stetson, Austin Hale was 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Jacob Koos was 3-for-5 and scored three of the Hatters’ five runs.

Duds of the Game: At the plate, Jack Gonzalez and Jorge Arenas were each 0-for-4 for Stetson. On the mound, reliever Mitchell Senger gave up four runs in just 1 1/3 innings.
