Holton Earns ACC Pitcher of the Week Again

Another week, another award for Florida State sophomore pitcher Tyler Holton.

Holton was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row for his performance in FSU’s 12-1 victory over Oakland on Saturday. The lefty Holton worked six shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11 without walking a batter.

For the year, Holton is 3-0 with a dazzling 0.47 ERA. Holton’s 32 strikeouts on the season leads the ACC and ranks fifth nationally.

Assuming head coach Mike Martin sticks with his regular rotation, Holton will likely get the ball on Saturday when the Seminoles play the second of three games against Boston College.
