Two Florida State players have been named to the ACC women’s basketball first-team as selected by the conference’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Leading scorer Shakayla Thomas and guard Leticia Romero were each honored by the conference. Thomas, a junior forward, led the Seminoles in scoring for a second straight year, averaging 14.8 points while shooting 51 percent from the field. Thomas also averages 5.4 rebounds per game.

The senior Romero ranks second on the team in scoring, putting up better than 12 per contest. Romero has shot better than 50 percent from the field this season and a remarkable 53 percent from beyond the 3-point line and nearly 94 percent from the foul line.

FSU did not have any representatives on the ACC’s second or freshman teams. FSU is 25-5 on the season and will be the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament. The Seminoles will play their first game of the conference tournament on Friday night in a quarterfinal against Miami, Georgia Tech or Boston College.
