After making four starts as a redshirt freshman in 2014 and a four more as a sophomore in 2015, center Ryan Hoefeld’s Florida State career has come to an end.

According to a report from Tomahawk Nation, Hoefeld has left the program. At 6-2 and 305 pounds, Hoefeld was set to be a redshirt senior in 2017.

The odds of Hoefeld seeing the field however, appeared slim after appearing in just one game in 2016. After making four starts in 2015, Hoefeld was lapped by the younger Alec Eberle.

Eberle is expected to be in a position battle with redshirt freshmen Baveon Johnson and Andrew Boselli, leaving Hoefeld out of the mix. A former ACC All-Academic team member and a graduate, Hoefeld will not play football next season at any school, according to a report from Warchant.

With the subtraction of Hoefeld, FSU’s scholarship player count is down to 90. That number must be trimmed to 85 before the start of the season.
