FSU Claims Top 10 Finish

For the fourth time in five years, Florida State will conclude the season ranked in the top 10. The Seminoles closed 2016 with a 33-32 win over Michigan in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 to notch a fifth straight 10-win season.

FSU closes the year ranked No. 8 in both the final Associated Press Poll and Amway Coaches Poll.

After beating Alabama for the National Championship on Monday night, Clemson topped the final polls, followed by the Crimson Tide. USC was third in the AP and fifth in the Coaches while Washington was fourth in each poll. Oklahoma finished fifth in the AP Poll and third in the Coaches Poll.

Nos. 6-10 were the same for both polls. Ohio State finishes sixth in front of Penn State, FSU, Wisconsin and Michigan.

The Seminoles and Clemson were among five ACC teams to finish the year ranked. Virginia Tech finishes the year ranked 16th in both polls. Miami finished ranked for the first time since 2009 at No. 20 in the AP Poll and 23rd in the Coaches Poll. Louisville sits at No. 21 in the AP Poll and 20th in the Coaches.

FSU will open the 2017 campaign in Atlanta against Alabama.
