Florida State’s 2017 recruiting class got a little bit smaller on Thursday as 4-star safety Daniel Wright announced that he was decommitting from FSU to join Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide.

A 6-1, 185-pound safety out of Fort Lauderdale, Wright committed to FSU in June, but had been trending toward Alabama for some time. Wright is the No. 121 overall prospect for 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and the 15th-ranked safety.

With the decommitment of Wright, FSU falls from 10th to 13th in the national team rankings and from second to third in the ACC behind Clemson and Miami. The Seminoles do still have a safety committed for 2017 in Daytona Beach product Cyrus Fagan, the No. 71 overall prospect.
