Three Noles Get Weekly Honors From ACC

Three Florida State players were honored this week by the ACC for efforts in Saturday’s 45-14 win over Syracuse. The Seminoles improved to 8-3 with the victory and concluded ACC play with a 5-3 record in conference.

Running back Dalvin Cook was named the ACC’s Offensive Back of the Week after breaking Warrick Dunn’s career rushing record at FSU and tying Greg Allen’s career school rushing touchdown record. Cook finished Saturday with 225 yards rushing on 28 carries and a career-high tying four touchdowns.

Junior tackle Roderick Johnson was named the ACC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week after helping the Seminoles grind out 654 yards of offense. For the day, FSU averaged 8.6 yards per play.

FSU freshman defensive end Brian Burns was named the ACC’s Rookie of the Week. Burns recorded 2.5 sacks in the FSU victory to run his total on the season to eight. As a team, FSU recorded eight total sacks.

FSU will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday against rival Florida. The Seminoles will look to make it four straight over the rival Gators.
