Florida State was among seven teams to receive at least one first-place vote Sunday as the Associated Press preseason football poll was released. FSU received five of a possible 61 first-place votes and will begin the season ranked fourth.

The preseason AP Poll’s top 4 was identical to the Amway Coaches Poll with Alabama topping the poll, followed by Clemson, Oklahoma and FSU. LSU is No. 5, followed by Ohio State and Michigan. Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame rounded out the top 10.

The Seminoles and No. 2 Clemson were among four ACC teams ranked to start the year. Louisville will begin the year ranked 19th while North Carolina will start at No. 23. Rival Florida rounded out the poll at No. 25.

The No. 4 preseason ranking is the second-highest for Florida State under head coach Jimbo Fisher. The Seminoles topped the poll in 2014. FSU will open the year against No. 11 Ole Miss on Sept. 5 in Orlando.
