It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We’ll update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

A big National Signing for Florida State and head coach Willie Taggart culminated in a No. 11 ranking for 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

With five additions on Wednesday, FSU finished with 21 total commitments — all of which signed. The Seminoles finished third in the ACC behind No. 6 Clemson and No. 8 Miami. Georgia took home the top overall class.

The No. 11 finish is the lowest for FSU since 2013, but still impressive considering that it was ranked 64th on Dec. 20 and had just eight commitments. In less than 50 days, Taggart was able to move FSU up 53 spots and add 13 commitments — an increase of 163 percent.

FSU women’s tennis competed in the National Team Indoors on Wednesday. FSU basketball was defeated by Virginia at home, 59-55.
