Florida State soccer’s streak of four straight ACC titles came to a halt on Sunday afternoon in Chapel Hill as No. 7 seed FSU fell to second-seeded North Carolina in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, 2-1.

Zoe Redei’s goal for North Carolina in the 15th minute got the scoring started. Taylor Otto found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to double the lead.

Dallas Dorosy was able to cut the lead in half on a 57th-minute goal that was assisted by leading scorer Deyna Castellanos. It was Dorosy’s seventh goal of the year and the only one of the day for the Seminoles.

The Tar Heels dominated the match from early on and finished with nine shots on goal to FSU’s two. Cassie Miller finished with five saves for the Seminoles in the loss. Samantha Leshnak added a save for North Carolina. Bridgette Andrzejewski had the assist on the first UNC goal.

With the loss, FSU falls to 11-6-1 on the year and will wait to see who it will draw in the NCAA Tournament. North Carolina will face third-seeded N.C. State in the ACC semifinals. The Wolfpack defeated Notre Dame on Sunday, 4-1.
