On a day where he tied an ACC record by being named Pitcher of the Week for a fifth time, Tyler Holton was the lone Florida State player to be named to the All-ACC first team.

Though the Saturday starter for almost all of the season, Holton has been the unquestioned ace of the FSU staff. Holton, this season, is 8-2 with a 2.55 ERA and 109 strikeouts compared to 24 walks in 88 1/3 innings pitched.

Holton, a sophomore, leads the ACC in opponents’ batting average and ranks in the top 10 in the conference in ERA, innings pitched, wins and strikeouts.

Quincy Nieporte earned second-team honors while Dylan Busby saw his name on the All-ACC third team. Nieporte has had a bounce-back year as a senior, leading FSU with 68 RBIs, while batting .302 with nine home runs, including four grand slams.

Busby, a junior, leads the Seminoles in home runs for the second year in a row with 12. Busby has overcome a slow start to hit .305. His 50 RBIs ranks 11th in the ACC and second for FSU.

Outfielder J.C. Flowers and infielder Drew Mendoza were each named to the ACC All-Freshman team. For the year, Flowers is hitting .277 with a pair of home runs and 29 RBIs. Flowers has also played an outstanding center field and is a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts.

Mendoza missed the first part of the season with an injury to his thumb, but eventually settled in nicely. Mendoza hit .278 in 29 games with five home runs and 24 RBIs.

With the regular season having concluded, FSU and its four All-ACC representatives will kick off the conference tournament in Louisville on Wednesday. To view the full All-ACC team, click here.
