It appears the nation’s No. 1 athlete will be playing his college football in the capital of the state of Texas rather than the capital of Florida.

According to a report from 247Sports, Justin Watkins changed his commitment from Florida State to Texas on Saturday. With the flip, Watkins becomes the first member of new head coach Tom Herman’s 2018 recruiting class in Austin.

A 5-11, 172-pound prospect from Vanguard High School in Ocala, the 4-star Watkins is not only the nation’s top athlete, but the No. 39 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Watkins is also the No. 9 player in the state of Florida.

The subtraction of Watkins leaves the Seminoles with seven prospects. FSU remains ranked fifth nationally in recruiting for 2018, per the Composite rankings.
