Florida State running back Dalvin Cook became the 37th player in FSU history to become a Consensus All-American on Monday.

Cook was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press. For the year, Cook has 1,620 yards rushing and more than 2,000 total yards from scrimmage to go with 19 total touchdowns.

To be considered a Consensus All-American, one most be on the first-team in three of these five publications: Sporting News, Walter Camp, AP, Football Writers Association of America and American Football Coaches Association.

Cook was previously named a first-teamer by Sporting News and Walter Camp and with two publications still to be released, he could be a unanimous All-American. Cook becomes the first FSU running back to hold the distinction of being a Consensus All-American since Greg Allen in 1983 and just the second overall.

Defensive end DeMarcus Walker was named to the AP’s second-team. Walker, who leads the nation with 15 sacks as a senior, could still garner Consensus All-American honors.

Walker was previously named a first-team selection by Sporting News and Walter Camp. Walker would become the sixth FSU defensive end ever to be so honored. The last was Bjoern Werner in 2012.
