Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is already a Consensus All-American and is pretty close to being a unanimous one.

After being named a first-team selection by the Associated Press earlier in the day, Cook was named a first-team selection by the Football Writers Association of America on Monday afternoon. Cook was also selected as a first-team All-American by Sporting News and Walter Camp. The American Football Coaches Association will release its team on Wednesday.

For the season, Cook has 1,620 yards rushing and more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage to go with 19 total touchdowns. Cook finished 10th in Heisman Trophy voting and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award which annually goes to the nation’s top back.

Sophomore cornerback Tarvarus McFadden was also named a first-team All-American by FWAA. McFadden is tied for the FBS lead this season with eight interceptions.

McFadden also won the Jack Tatum Award, which annually goes to the nation’s top defensive back. McFadden was a second-team All-American selection by Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Noticeably absent from the FWAA first and second team was FSU senior defensive end DeMarcus Walker. Walker leads the nation with 15 sacks and was previously named a first-team All-American by Sporting News and Walter Camp as well as a second-team selection by AP.

Walker could become the 38th different Florida State player and 45th Consensus All-American selection if named to American Football Coaches Association’s first team. Walker would also be the sixth FSU defensive end to earn that honor.
