FSU Football: Game Times Announced for Samford, Syracuse

Florida State will have more night home games in the first two weeks of the 2018 season than it had all last year, according to a release from the ACC.

FSU’s 8 p.m. EST kickoff for the Labor Day opener against Virginia Tech on ESPN has been no secret, but the Sept. 8 contest with Samford will also come under the lights. That contest will begin at 7:20 p.m. EST and air on ACC Network.

Florida State fans however, won’t be able to completely escape the vaunted noon kickoff early on. FSU’s first road game of the year — the Sept. 15 contest at Syracuse — will kickoff at 12 p.m. EST and air on ESPN’s family of networks.

The Seminoles didn’t play a single home game in prime time last season. Four of the six contests at Doak Campbell Stadium began at noon and another started at 12:20 p.m. EST. The latest start time for any home game last season was a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff for the rivalry contest with Miami.

Start times and networks for FSU’s nine other contests will be announced at later dates.
