What looked like a promising week for Florida State ended in disappointing fashion. After beating Jacksonville and taking the first of three games from Georgia Tech, the Seminoles dropped the final two games to the Yellow Jackets, including a 16-3 thumping on Sunday.

With the defeats, FSU has fallen out of the top 10 in the D1Baseball.com Poll. Previously No. 6, FSU fell six spots to No. 12 in this week’s poll.

Florida State remained in the top 10 in the Baseball America Poll, but did fall. Previously fourth, the Seminoles dropped five spots to No. 9 in that poll.

FSU also fell out of the top 10 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. After ranking ninth last week, the Seminoles took a 4-spot plunge to No. 13.

Florida State fell four spots in the NCBWA Poll. Previously No. 6, the Seminoles dropped to 10th.

For the season, FSU is 24-9. The Seminoles have a tough week upcoming with a home contest against No. 1 Florida on Tuesday night before beginning a 3-game series with No. 10 Duke on Friday night.
