With the NCAA Tournament less than two months away, the time is now for college baseball teams to start making statements. Across the board this week, Florida State ranks in the top 10 nationally, but what are the odds of being a national seed?

For now, the answer seems pretty good.

For the first time this season, both Baseball America and D1Baseball.com have listed their projected fields of 64. In both cases, the Seminoles currently sit as a national seed.

According to Baseball America, FSU currently occupies the No. 4 national seed. Joining FSU in the Tallahassee Regional would be No. 2 seed Florida Atlantic, No. 3 seed Stetson and fourth-seeded Stony Brook.

The Seminoles are scheduled to face Stetson twice this season — at home on April 17 and in DeLand on April 24. FSU hasn’t faced FAU since 1998. The last meeting with Stony Brook was a 12-2 FSU victory to eliminate the Seawolves from the 2012 College World Series.

The D1Baseball.com projections weren’t as kind to FSU, which occupies the No. 8 national seed. FSU would be matched up with No. 4 seed Florida A&M while No. 2 seed Texas A&M and No. 3 seed South Florida would join the Seminoles and Rattlers.

FSU beat USF 5-2 in Tallahassee back in February, thanks to a 4-run eighth inning. The Seminoles are 13-0 all-time against Florida A&M with the last meeting coming in 2002. The Aggies eliminated FSU in three games during the 2011 Tallahassee Super Regional in the last meeting between the teams.

For the season, the Seminoles are 23-7 and 7-5 in ACC play. FSU will hit the road this weekend for three games with Georgia Tech, beginning on Friday. Baseball America currently has Georgia Tech as a No. 3 seed in the Athens Regional while D1Baseball.com does not include them in the field of 64.
