Another poll, another top 5 start for Florida State.

As was the case in the Collegiate Baseball Poll, the Seminoles will begin the year ranked No. 5 in the D1Baseball.com Poll, which was released on Tuesday. FSU was one of five ranked teams from the ACC.

Topping the poll was rival and reigning national champion Florida, followed by Oregon State, Texas Tech and Arkansas. Behind the Seminoles was 2017 ACC runner-up North Carolina, TCU, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Fresh off its first College World Series appearance since 2012 and a second ACC title in three years, the Seminoles return virtually all of their key arms except closer Drew Carlton. As for the lineup, key contributors such as Jackson Lueck, Rhett Aplin and Drew Mendoza return.

FSU has won at least 40 games in 40 consecutive seasons. The Seminoles open the season on Feb. 16 against Xavier.

Other ACC teams in the poll aside from FSU and the Tar Heels include No. 15 Louisville, No. 19 Virginia and 25th-ranked Duke. Click here to view the poll.
