Florida State remained winless on the road in ACC play after making the long trip to Chestnut Hill for Monday night’s match-up. The Seminoles made a late charge, but fell to Boston College, 81-75.

The Eagles (13-6, 3-3 ACC) led 41-25 at the break and by as many as 21 points in the second half before FSU forged a late rally. The Seminoles (12-5, 2-4 ACC) cut the lead to seven with less than three minutes to play and five in the game’s final minute, but could get no closer.

The story of the night for FSU was its inability to put the ball in the basket. The Seminoles shot just 34 percent from the field and a dismal 5-for-26 from beyond the 3-point arc. They did win the rebounding battle, 50-36.

Boston College starters accounted for all but two of the Eagles’ 81 points. Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman each led the victors with 19 points. Bowman also paced BC with 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Nik Popovic and Jordan Chatman each scored 14 points in the win while Steffon Mitchell scored 13.

After missing Saturday’s win over Syracuse with concussion symptoms, Terance Mann returned to the lineup to lead FSU with a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds. C.J. Walker was the most efficient player for FSU, scoring 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting and dishing out a game-high six assists. Braian Angola scored 17 points in the loss and knocked down three of Florida State’s five triples.

The win for Boston College is the first over FSU since February 2012. The Eagles will travel to face Louisville on Sunday. FSU aims for its first ACC road win at Virginia Tech on Saturday.
