Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi may be off to the NFL, but his colleague will be back.

Redshirt junior Demarcus Christmas made the announcement that he would return in 2018 following a 42-13 win over Southern Mississippi in the Independence Bowl on Wednesday. The Sarasota product finished his 2017 campaign with 36 total tackles, including 4.5 for loss and one sack.

Christmas has been overshadowed by a slew of talented linemen around him, but has started 26 straight games for the Seminoles. Other FSU players with decisions to make include running back Jacques Patrick, wide receiver Auden Tate and cornerback Tarvarus McFadden.

FSU football defeated Southern Mississippi 42-13 in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl on Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s basketball will host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday. The contest airs on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU teammates expect tight end Ryan Izzo to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.

According to reports, running back Jacques Patrick and wide receiver Auden Tate are undecided on the draft.

FSU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly has accepted a job at Tennessee, according to multiple reports.
