For the second straight week, a Florida State defensive lineman was honored by the ACC for his efforts. With Saturday’s 38-22 road victory at Florida, FSU moved to within one win of bowl eligibility and the victory gave the program a school-record five straight wins over the Gators.

Sophomore defensive end Brian Burns was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week. Burns recorded five tackles, including 2.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble that was returned by linebacker Jacob Pugh for a touchdown. Burns also swatted down a pair of passes.

Freshman Joshua Kaindoh earned the honor the week before for his 4-sack effort against Delaware State. The Seminoles have been proficient the last couple weeks when it comes to pressuring the quarterback.

That’s a trend they hope will continue as the Seminoles will look to close the regular season on a 3-game winning streak and become bowl-eligible. FSU wraps up the regular season on Saturday when it plays host to Louisiana-Monroe.
