FSU’s Cam Akers Earns Two Weekly Honors from ACC

Following a thrilling 27-24 victory over Syracuse on Saturday, one young Florida State player earned recognition from the ACC.

Freshman running back Cam Akers was named ACC Offensive Back of the Week and ACC Rookie of the Week. Akers rushed for a career-high 199 yards on 22 carries on Saturday, which included touchdown runs of 54 and 63 yards.

Akers also caught three passes for 18 yards. For the season, Akers now has a team-high 695 yards rushing to go with three touchdowns.

FSU will hope for a stellar team effort this week as it travels to face No. 4 Clemson. The Seminoles will be hefty underdogs as they try to avoid a third straight loss to the Tigers.
