FSU’s Ryan Izzo Makes Mackey Watch List

Big things are expected of Florida State in 2017 and that includes for its big target at tight end.

Redshirt junior Ryan Izzo was named to the John Mackey Award watch list on Tuesday. The award named after NFL Hall of Fame inductee John Mackey is annually handed to the nation’s top tight end by the Nassau County Sports Commission.

In two years as the FSU starter, Izzo has recorded 33 catches for 437 yards and three touchdowns. Listed at 6-6 and 245 pounds, Izzo was also named to the Mackey Award watch list last season.

The Mackey Award was first given in 2000. The lone FSU player to win the honor was Nick O’Leary in 2014.
