FSU’s Eberle Among Rimington Trophy Candidates

Florida State redshirt junior center Alec Eberle has been mentioned in the same breath with some of the nation’s best.

Eberle was among more than 70 candidates named to the Rimington Trophy watch list on Tuesday. Since 2000, the award is annually given by the Boomer Esiason Foundation to the country’s top center.

A native of Virginia, Eberle is listed at 6-4 and nearly 295 pounds. Eberle has started 19 straight games for FSU, but is expected to be in a position battle with redshirt freshmen Andrew Boselli and Baveon Johnson.

The Rimington Trophy is named after former Dave Rimington, a former All-American at Nebraska. The lone FSU center to win the award was Bryan Stork back in 2013.
