The 2016 college football season will net two Consensus All-Americans for Florida State. Junior running back Dalvin Cook had already earned the distinction earlier in the week, but it’s one that will also belong to senior defensive end DeMarcus Walker.

Walker, the nation’s leader in sacks with 15, found himself on the American Football Coaches Association’s first team, which was unveiled Wednesday. Walker was also named a first-team All-American by Sporting News and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Walker becomes the 38th FSU player and sixth defensive end to earn that distinction. For the year, Walker added 63 total tackles and three forced fumbles.

Cook was also named to the first team by AFCA on Wednesday, making him a Unanimous All-American. Cook was a first-team selection by Sporting News, Walter Camp, Associated Press and Football Writers Association of America as well. He’s the 14th FSU player to receive that distinction.

For the year, Cook has more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 19 total touchdowns. Cook also finished in the top 10 in the Heisman Trophy voting and as a finalist for the Doak Walker Award.

Making the AFCA second-team was FSU junior tackle Roderick Johnson. Johnson started every game this season and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the ACC’s best offensive lineman for a second year in a row.

Sophomore cornerback Tarvarus McFadden was also a second-team selection. McFadden previously won the Jack Tatum Award as the nation’s top defensive back. McFadden leads the country with eight interceptions.
