The unveiling of the final College Football Playoff rankings stole the headlines Sunday, but Florida State managed to move up in each of the two traditional polls thanks to losses by teams in front of it like Colorado and Oklahoma State.

After ranking 12th in both polls last week, the Seminoles climbed to No. 10 in both the AP Poll and the Amway Coaches Poll.

Alabama continued to top both polls, followed by Ohio State and ACC champion Clemson. Washington was No. 4 in both polls while Penn State rounded out the top 5.

The Seminoles and Tigers were among five ranked teams from the ACC. Louisville moved up to No. 15 in the AP Poll and held firm at that spot in the Coaches. Virginia Tech climbed a spot to 18th in the AP Poll and fell a spot to 19th in the Coaches Poll. Pittsburgh was not ranked in the Coaches Poll, but is 22nd in the AP Poll — a 2-spot jump.

It is the first time FSU has been ranked in the top 10 in either the AP Poll or Amway Coaches Poll since falling to Louisville on Sept. 17.
