Florida State’s decisive 31-13 victory over rival Florida on Saturday night has the Seminoles ranked a bit higher in the polls. The win was the fourth straight for FSU and gives the team a 9-3 record to conclude the regular season.

FSU moved up three spots to 12th in the AP Poll on Sunday. In the Amway Coaches Poll, Florida State climbed two spots — also to No. 12.

Undefeated Alabama topped each poll, followed by Ohio State and ACC Atlantic division champion Clemson. Washington moved to No. 4 in both polls and rounding out the top 5 was Michigan in the AP Poll and Wisconsin in the Coaches.

Aside from the Seminoles and No. 3 Clemson, three other ACC teams were ranked. Louisville fell from 11th to 16th in the AP Poll and to 15th in the Coaches after losing to Kentucky while ACC Coastal champion Virginia Tech went from unranked to No. 19 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the Amway Coaches Poll. Pittsburgh is now 24th in the AP Poll, but unranked in the Coaches.

Clemson and Virginia Tech will play for the ACC Championship in Orlando on Saturday. The Seminoles won’t play again until a bowl.

The College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday night. If FSU were ranked higher than Louisville and Clemson were able to win on Saturday and clinch a playoff berth, the Seminoles would likely head to the Discover Orange Bowl for a third straight New Year’s Six bowl appearance.
