Florida State defensive end Jermaine Johnson II will spend just one season in Tallahassee, but it was a memorable one.

Johnson was named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation this week. He previously earned first-team honors from ESPN and CBS Sports and second-team honors from The Athletic.

A Georgia transfer, Johnson led the ACC this past season with 11.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss. The Walter Camp Football Foundation is one of five publications used to determine Consensus All-American status.

News and Notes

In Thursday night’s 36-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, former FSU and current Minnesota Vikings’ running back Dalvin Cook set a franchise record with 153 yards rushing in the first half.

FSU signee Michael Toppi will compete at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon in San Diego.
