The Daily Nole — Nov. 12, 2021: Two FSU Soccer Players Named Academic All-District

Lead Story

Florida State soccer has accomplished a lot on the field this season, but on Thursday, two players were acknowledged for their classroom achievements.

Seniors defender Gabby Carle and forward Kristina Lynch were each named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team. Both players currently have perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.

Both have also enjoyed solid seasons on the field. Lynch has appeared in all 18 games, which includes 16 starts, and has a goal and an assist this season. Carle was named second-team All-ACC with two goals and five assists.

They’ll both be in action on Friday as the top-seeded Seminoles begin the NCAA Tournament against South Alabama.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU soccer’s NCAA Tournament contest with South Alabama begins at 6 p.m. ET and streams on ACC Network Extra. FSU cross country will take part in the NCAA Regionals.

FSU women’s tennis wraps up its fall schedule on Friday with the UNF Fall Invitational.

Audrey Rothman and Laila N’Diaye have signed letters of intent to play volleyball at FSU.
