As you begin a new week, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

For the eighth time, Florida State soccer is champion of the ACC. The No. 2 seed Seminoles earned that distinction in North Carolina on Sunday with a hard-fought 1-0 win over top-seeded Virginia.

The lone goal for FSU came in the 10th minute as Clara Robbins found the back of the net. Virginia had multiple chances in the second half and actually outshot FSU for the match, 11-8. Goalkeeper Cristina Roque came up huge with three saves.

The victory will likely put the Seminoles back at No. 1 in the polls and land them the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The win also gives FSU its seventh ACC crown in nine years.

Robbins was named the ACC Tournament MVP for the second straight year. Also earning honors on the all-tournament team for Florida State were Roque, Emily Madril, Maria Alagoa and Lauren Flynn.
