As the weekend inches ever closer, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State will be down one quarterback for the remainder of the season as redshirt freshman Chubba Purdy announced he would be entering the transfer portal.

A 4-star prospect from Arizona, Purdy was largely relegated to mop-up time this season behind Jordan Travis and McKenzie Milton. He did make one start last season as a true freshman in a 38-22 loss to NC State.

Purdy’s only action this season came in a 59-3 win over Massachusetts, where he finished 5-for-5 passing for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He finishes his FSU career with 317 yards passing, four touchdown tosses and one interception.

With the loss of Purdy, Tate Rodemaker joins Travis and Milton as the only remaining scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. FSU is bringing in a 4-star prospect in AJ Duffy, who will enroll in January.
