It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

As you week keeps moving, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Senior defensive end Jermaine Johnson will spend just one year at Florida State, but he seems to be making the most of it.

On Monday, Johnson was named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award and the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week. In Saturday’s 30-20 loss at Clemson, Johnson recorded four tackles, two for loss and after stripping Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei of the football on a sack, he scooped up the fumble and went the final six yards for a touchdown.

The Bednarik Award annually goes to the best defensive player in college football. For the season, Johnson ranks second in the ACC with 7.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. No FSU player has ever won the Bednarik.

Johnson and the Seminoles will be back in action on Saturday at home against NC State.
