The Daily Nole — Oct. 20, 2021: FSU Hoops Picked to Finish Second in ACC

Just two seasons removed from its second-ever ACC championship, Florida State basketball was picked to finish second in the conference by the media.

The second-place projection is the highest ever for the Seminoles. FSU finished with 1,034 total points, which was behind only Duke. The Seminoles received 14 of 81 first-place votes.

Aside from Duke and FSU, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Louisville all received first-place votes. FSU is coming off an 18-7 campaign in which it reached the ACC Championship and the Sweet 16.

The Seminoles will begin the season at home against Pennsylvania on Nov. 10.

FSU volleyball has added a match with North Florida for Nov. 9. The contest begins at 5 p.m. ET

FSU football defensive end Jermaine Johnson was named a Midseason All-American by CBS Sports.
