The Daily Nole — Oct. 7, 2021: Polite, Osborne to Represent FSU Hoops at ACC Tipoff

Lead Story

The ACC men’s basketball media days known as ACC Tipoff is approaching. Florida State has chosen which players will represent the program at the event.

Guard Anthony Polite and forward Malik Osborne will represent the Seminoles along with head coach Leonard Hamilton. The event takes place on Monday and Tuesday at Charlotte Marriott City Center.

As a program, FSU has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for a program record five straight seasons with four Sweet 16 appearances. Although the 2019-20 season was cut short at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, FSU won the ACC regular season title for the first time ever.

Polite is the leading returning scorer for FSU after averaging 10.1 points per game last season while shooting 50% from the field and 44% from deep. Osborne averaged 5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season.

FSU volleyball fell at Miami on Wednesday night, 3-1.

On the Agenda

FSU soccer will host Syracuse on Thursday night. The contest begins at 7 p.m. ET and streams on ACC Network Extra.

Helmet stickers will be back this week for FSU football as the Seminoles travel to North Carolina.
