The Daily Nole — Sept. 28, 2021: FSU Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth in First Tourney

Lead Story

Florida State women’s golf is officially one tournament into the 2021-22 season. The Seminoles finished the Schooner Fall Classic on Monday tied for fourth place.

As a team, the Seminoles finished tied with Illinois at +15. Charlotte Heath shot +2 to pace FSU and finished in an 11th-place tie. Beatrice Wallin and Amelia Williamson each finished tied for 15th at +3.

Oklahoma State ran away with the team title at -16, which was 20 strokes better than second-place Texas A&M. Baylor finished third. Oklahoma State’s Caley McGinty and Rina Tatematsu finished first and second, respectively.

FSU will be back in action next week when it heads to Ohio to take part in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup on Oct. 4 and 5.

Between the Lines

The Schooner Fall Classic was the lone FSU athletic event scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

News and Notes

FSU football’s Oct. 9 contest at North Carolina will begin at either 3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on either ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ACC Network.

Quarterback Chubba Purdy is currently listed as the co-backup on FSU’s latest depth chart.
