Florida State soccer has not played in a week, but in the polls, the Seminoles didn’t go anywhere.

FSU remained No. 1 in the latest United Coaches Poll. The Seminoles last played a week ago and handled rival Florida, 5-2.

In the latest poll released on Tuesday, FSU received 29 of the 34 first-place votes. FSU is off to a 5-0 start. The Seminoles visit Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday before traveling to face No. 10 Auburn on Sunday.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU’s soccer match against Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday begins at 7 p.m. ET. FSU volleyball begins the UCF Invitational against Georgia.

News and Notes

FSU football received four points in this week’s AP Poll — an increase from none last week. In the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, FSU received 34 points after getting just one in the preseason.

FSU men’s tennis’ Barnaby Smith, a Texas A&M transfer, is ranked 67th in the ITA rankings. Loris Pourroy is ranked 85th.
