It’s the weekend, Florida State fans.

Lead Story

Florida State cross country opened the 2021 season on Friday in Boone N.C. for the Covered Bridge Open. The result?

Two victories.

The FSU men and women each took home the team titles and the individual title. The FSU men were led by winner Adriaan Wildschutt while Muhumed Ahmed finished fifth. Three other Seminoles finished in the top 10.

Lauren Ryan took home the women’s individual trophy for the Seminoles. Amanda Beach (fifth), Caitlin Wilkey (sixth), Rebecca Bergnes (ninth) and Maudie Skyring (10th) all finished in the top 10 for FSU.

FSU will be off next week before hosting the FSU Open on Sept. 17. The Seminoles will have just four total meets before the ACC Championships.

Between the Lines

In addition to cross country, FSU volleyball took home the Four Points Tallahassee Seminole Volleyball Invitational title on Friday with 3-0 wins over Samford and Virginia Commonwealth.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Saturday.

News and Notes

FSU football currently has the No. 10 overall recruiting class in the country for 2022, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
