After reaching the national championship match last season, Florida State soccer’s 2021 campaign started on the right foot.

The top-ranked Seminoles opened the year with a thrilling 1-0 victory over No. 9 Texas A&M on Thursday night. Clara Robbins scored the match’s lone goal in the 89th minute.

Despite not scoring until late, FSU dominated the match. The Seminoles finished with a 14-2 advantage in shots and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks. Kenna Caldwell had six saves for the Aggies before Robbins broke through.

The victory is the 14th straight season-opening win for the Seminoles. They’ll be back in action at home against Alabama on Sunday.
