The Daily Nole — Aug. 17, 2021: FSU Gets No Votes in Preseason AP Poll athletics

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

As your week nears a midway point, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

It’s no surprise that Florida State football is unranked in either preseason poll. After receiving a single vote in the USA TODAY Poll, the Seminoles received none in the preseason AP Poll.

With the release of the AP Poll on Monday, it marked the second time in three seasons that FSU did not receive a single vote in the preseason. The Seminoles are coming off three straight losing seasons, including a 3-6 finish last year.

Topping the poll was Alabama, followed by Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Notre Dame was ranked No. 9. That’s who the Seminoles will open the season with in Tallahassee on Sept. 5.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.
