She had already been a national champion. Now, Florida State’s Gabby Carle is a gold medalist.

As a member of the Canadian National Team, Carle helped her country win Olympic gold by beating Sweden on penalty kicks on Friday. With the contest tied 1-1, the Canadians won 3-2 in the penalty kick session.

Set to be a redshirt senior, Carle helped FSU reach the national championship match last season. She finished the 2020 campaign with two goals and one assist.
