The Daily Nole — May 4, 2021: FSU Women’s Tennis Earns National Seed, Will Host Regional

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

Lead Story

For just the fourth time in program history, Florida State women’s tennis will host a regional.

The Seminoles earned the No. 7 national seed and will be the top seed in the Tallahassee Regional, which begins on Friday. FSU will open the NCAA Tournament against Alabama State. The winner will advance to face the winner of Auburn and Oklahoma State the following day.

FSU finished the regular season in second place in the ACC. The Seminoles were 16-5 overall this season and are No. 6 in the ITA rankings.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

News and Notes

FSU baseball rose one spot to No. 14 in the Baseball America Poll and two spots to No. 18 in the D1Baseball Poll. The Seminoles moved up eight spots to No. 17 in the NCBWA Poll.

FSU men’s tennis did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
