It’s Friday, Florida State fans.

As the weekend gets closer, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State men’s tennis has just four wins over ACC opponents this season. Two have now come against Notre Dame.

The 12th-seeded Seminoles advanced to the ACC Tournament quarterfinals with a thrilling 4-3 comeback over the fifth-seeded Fighting Irish on Thursday. FSU trailed 3-1 before winning the final three singles duals.

Andreja Petrovic and Marcus Walters won in straight sets for FSU, but the Seminoles needed to win their final two duals to advance. After Sebastian Arcila beat Notre Dame’s Tristan McCormick in a 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 nail-biter, Chase Wood clinched the match for Florida State with a 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 win over Brandon Ancona.

The victory puts FSU three wins away from clinching an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. FSU will face fourth-seeded NC State in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
