The Daily Nole — April 19, 2021: FSU Women’s Golf Falls to Duke in ACC Final

A first ACC title for Florida State women’s golf was not in the cards on Sunday in Greensboro.

One day after an impressive win over Wake Forest, the Seminoles fell in the championship round of the ACC Championships to Duke. In match play, FSU lost each of the five matches.

Jaravee Boonchant clinched the match for Duke with a 6 and 5 win over FSU’s Taylor Roberts. The Seminoles will begin their NCAA Regional in May.

Between the Lines

In addition to the ACC Championships, FSU softball swept a doubleheader vs. Syracuse on Sunday, winning by scores of 3-2 and 13-1. FSU beach volleyball went 3-0 in Gulf Shores, Ala., topping Tulane 5-0 and TCU by 4-1 and 3-2 scores. FSU baseball fell at home to Boston College, 5-3.

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

Polls will be released for various sports on Monday.

FSU men’s tennis will open the ACC Tournament on Wednesday vs. Boston College.

FSU women’s tennis will be the No. 2 seed for the ACC Tournament.

The NCAA Women’s Soccer Selection Show takes place at 1 p.m. on Monday.
