Florida State football added a ton of coaching experience and ties to South Florida on Monday.

Randy Shannon was hired as a senior defensive analyst. A former coordinator, head coach and player at Miami, Shannon has spent about 30 years as a coach. That includes other stints with Arkansas, TCU, Florida and UCF.

Shannon was named the winner of the Frank Broyles Award in 2001 as Miami went on to win its first national championship in a decade. Shannon will assist defensive coordinator Adam Fuller in his new role.

FSU men’s golf continued the Calusa Cup on Monday.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s golf wraps up the Calusa Cup on Tuesday while the women begin the LSU Invitational. FSU baseball will host Jacksonville. That contest begins at 6 p.m. ET and streams on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU volleyball did not make the NCAA Tournament. It ends a streak of 11 straight appearances.

FSU volleyball’s Taryn Knuth and Emma Clothier were named first-team All-ACC. Morgan Chacon and Jasmyn Martin were each named to the second team.

FSU baseball was ranked in the new polls released Monday: No. 18 Baseball America, No. 17 D1Baseball, No. 22 NCBWA, No. 28 Collegiate Baseball.

2024 tight end prospect Landen Thomas has committed to FSU football.
