The Daily Nole — March 30, 2021: FSU Men’s Golf Finishes Third at The Hayt

After winning three of its first five tournaments this season, No. 1 Florida State men’s golf had to settle for third place at The Hayt at Ponte Verde Beach.

FSU wrapped up the 2-day tournament on Monday as one of three teams to finish under par, but behind both Clemson and North Florida. As a team, the Seminoles shot -1. Clemson won easily at -19.

John Pak shot -7 for FSU to finish tied for third. Brett Roberts finished at even par and tied for 10th. North Florida’s Nick Gabrelcik shot -10 to take the individual title.

Up next for FSU will be a trip to Naples for the Calusa Cup, which begins on Sunday. That will be the final tournament before the ACC Championships.

The Hayt was the lone FSU athletic event scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

News and Notes

FSU baseball fell in most polls. The Seminoles now sit at No. 18 in the D1Baseball and Baseball America Polls. FSU is No. 30 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. In the NCBWA Poll, FSU moved up one spot to No. 22.

FSU volleyball fell out of the AVCA Poll.
