The Daily Nole — March 24, 2021: FSU Women’s Golf Wins Pinetree Collegiate

Lead Story

For the second time in three tournaments, Florida State women’s golf emerged victorious on Tuesday. The Seminoles wrapped up the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate in Atlanta with a convincing victory.

As a team, FSU shot -2. That was 25 strokes better than second-place Kennesaw State. Entering the third and final round, FSU’s lead was just five strokes.

Taking the individual crown for the tournament was FSU’s Beatrice Wallin, who at -4, won by three strokes. Charlotte Heath finished tied for third at +1 for the Seminoles. Taylor Roberts shot +3 to finish tied for eighth.

FSU will be back in action on April 6 and 7 at the LSU Invitational. That will be the final tournament before the ACC Championships.

Between the Lines

The Pinetree Collegiate was the lone FSU athletic event scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s swimming and diving begins the NCAA Championships on Wednesday. FSU baseball will host UCF on Wednesday night. The contest begins at 6 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.

FSU women’s hoops 2021 signee O’Mariah Gordon has been chosen as Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Basketball.

FSU baseball’s Robby Martin was named NCBWA National Hitter of the Week.

Michigan basketball is currently listed as a 3-point favorite over FSU in the Sweet 16.

FSU football’s cornerback Demorie Tate, defensive end Leonard Warner, and offensive lineman Thomas Shrader will be out for an extended period of time.
